Even if a plane WAS carrying the gas from America to Afghanistan (which I doubt is very likely) it would NOT have been transported in the type of jet plane that was set up for spraying. And even IF in the very unlikely event it was being transported in that type of plane, they would have the spray jets disengaged and the nozzles capped to prevent that type of malfunction. Pilots and their crews have a very strict checklist procedure, even more so in the military.

Now unless you are going to tell me it was deliberate on the part of the US government or military, your theory is misguided at best, idiotic at worst.

Yes I do know that some people may have issues typing because of some illness or disease. I also realize that most of those people would at least attempt to make their response legible. They are more aware of their issues with typing and so they would probably use the backspace button and correct their typos.

Most of the people who make comments that have lots of typos and make no sense don't care if people can read their comment, or just cant figure out how to use spellcheck.

If I did get parkinsons or something that made it difficult to type then I would probably not type such long responses and use the backspace alot. I can also hit the spellcheck button and it would automatically fix most of those errors.

Funny thing, I recently pointed out to some eco buds that large flocks of waterbirds, primarily White Ibis,Egret and Herons must have changed their "feeding grounds"..instead of flying home to roost in an East to West direction over the river..they now fly right up our canal heading South to North until they reach the river and then head West..i've been watching them for 10 years..this is a relatively new direction for their feeding grounds and nighty roost returns??? I'm just sayin'..??

Birds do use the magnetic poles for long range migrations (little ions in their brains line up) but they do have eyes for short range navigation. I sincerely doubt this has anything to do with the electromagnetic field.

Back in the latter half of the 70's here on my street, there was a "mass die off" of starlings and martins. They hit a set of high voltage power lines running through a yard. I was there and nearly got hit with falling birds. It was more like a very slow rain of birds. it happened at late dusk and dark. Not during the daylight hours. Theority of the flock flew through the lines and a small percentage hit them. Law of averages.

Frankly, having witnessed what a HE/ULF can do to a flock of birds sitting on a power line, it would not surprise me in the least if this were a military test, though the locale is not situated near the test bed.

Some interesting thoughts. We read about these massive bird die offs and wonder why. Some have speculated on a problem with their internal navigational instinct which is directly correlated to the earth's magnetic field. A field that is controlled by the movement of magma in the earth's core. We are also seeing large amounts of active volcanic activity in the world. This has an impact on the earth's magnetic field as well. The Global warming crowd points to the loss of glacial mass and sea ice as sure indicators of global warming which is technically correct, however the conclusion that it is a man driven problem becomes a stretch considering the recent surge in volcanic activity both above and undersea in polar areas. Remember that mountainous regions are areas of great seismic activity prone quite often to volcanic activity. If the earth's going through changes due to gravitational shift, or a heating up of the core and forcing magma ever closer to the surface at a number of locations, this in and of itself could be the cause of global warming and climate shift. The effect this has on evolved animals would be more apparent than it's effect on human beings as we are less dependent on natural forces than animals are for our survival.

Your experience with the birds flying around like bats in front of your vehicle and at night sounds more like an encounter with Night Hawks. They are very common here in Texas and they like to sit in the roadway until a vehicle is almost on top of them before they will move. The Night Hawks will then fly around and manuever just like bats searching for bugs in the headlights. I call them suicide birds and they are unsettling and annoying.

Relax, every once in a while nature goes wild. Hoards of locusts, towns overrun by frogs, red tides, whales and dolfins beaching themselves. This year has been quite unseasonal, which could just a random effect or cause by some brief, or progressive anomoly.

Mayans I recall predicted worldwide floods, major eartquakes and a shift in the polarity of the Earth just to name a few of their predictions. So far floods have affected Pakistan, parts of Europe, Australia and earthquakes, Indonesia, Haiti, Chile, Southern Pacific etc........As for the birds' behaviour, perhaps the Earth's magnetic field is really changing and they as a result are experiencing difficulties with their in-built compass and sense of direction. Actually, the root basis for that movie was based upon the real life defense mechanism of willow trees. Willow trees excrete a mild toxin when attacked/eaten and other willow trees nearby will also begin excreting the same toxin even if those trees aren't being attacked/eaten. It's a really interresting and rare natural defense mechanism. Of course, the toxin is far too mild to be harmful to humans, but it's powerful enough to send certain insects scurrying on to other more palletable greenery.

Regardless of the scientific premise behind it.....that was still the absolute worst movie I have ever seen. I felt like I had lost 2 hours of my life I would never get back.

I just wanted to point out a few things. Mass deaths do occur often naturally. A good lightning strike to a lake can easily kill thousands of fish, though 100,000 is quite a few, and I doubt lightning is the culprit here. Anyhow, I feel they are trying to cover up how the birds died. Fireworks? Puh-lease. Fireworks don't kill thousands of birds simultaneously. And the notion that they all ran into something, thus resulting in their deaths, is also irrelevant, as some birds happened to drop in open fields. Nothing to hit there. I don't know whats going on. Hopefully with time our questions will be answered.

The fish died in a river not a lake. Itoo am familiar with reports of lightning strikes to ponds and lakes however those incidents killed more than just one species of fish when they occurred. I feel that there is something yet to be discovered about these deaths that will lead to some sort of natural phenomena similar to some sort of toxin released from the planet under the river bed. Millions of tons of volcanic ash dumped into the atmosphere by volcanic eruptions can create a denser shield against ultra violet radiation which warms the planet changing temperature patterns to a region. Ash strewn across land that was once fertile can have an effect on the amount of oxygen that green plants regenerate in an area which impacts temperature, rain fall, and the like. The Scientists are so busy looking for a simple root cause to point the finger at that they are missing the bigger picture, that everything and I do mean EVERYTHING is interconnected and has an impact on each other. Man dumping tons of pollutants in the air does have an effect, but is it really man that is the real culprit or is it just the earth doing what the earth normally does and change because of forces over which we have no control?

NASA's primary mission is to study outer space, to learn the origins of the Universe and how we came into existence. It's goal is NOT to find other planets for human beings to move to en mass. Sorry, not the EA6 my friend. I worked on the Electronic Countermeasures in that great aircraft. The radio station near you puts out about 50k times more power than the EA6. Most aircraft do not need to transmit huge amounts of power because they can maintain line of sight to target while they are airborne.

Lots of chemtrails in the south this past week.

SO, just how do you tell the difference between a contrail (condensation Trail caused by water vapor from a jet engine condensing in the upper atmosphere) to a chemtrail (chemicals sprayed by aircraft into the upper atmosphere) without going up there and taking a sample?

I can tell you from being at a local airport, seeing the effects on the roofing to the local homes (that the airlines and airport paid to repair and reinforce), and going to school to be an aircraft technician... Aircraft DO jettison shortly before a landing if there's too much fuel. It can and likely will do damage. However, it's not much different then people gassing up their vehicles. You're generally still only getting vapors. Jet fuel is far 'cleaner' than what we breathe in every time we fill up.

No, something else I'm thinking. It's not like the birds seem sick. They are just dropping. What's with the internal bleeding? And many different places at once, not just one sick area.

Many conspiracy theories are based on fact. I agree there are a lot of nut jobs out there (and in here, in this forum) but to automatically dismiss EVERY alternate theory is not being a very good scientist. UFO's may exist, I said MAY, we just don't know. Governments MAY be doing things, very bad things, that we don't know about. There MAY be branches of the government, rich organizations running the world, that we don't know about. You cannot dismiss these things out of hand simply because a bunch of lunatics are acting crazy and making it sound so implausible.

Basically, it's good to keep an open mind to every type of scenario, no matter how far-fetched it may seem.

Actually, dismissing conspiracy theories is almost always good science because of how they work. They start with a conclusion and work backwards, rationalizing events and shoehorning them into the conspiracy scenario.

Because of that, they become unfalseafiable as any contrary facts can always be explained as part of the conspiracy. Maintaining the conspiracy is paramount. This is why 9/11 truthers, birthers, and others make such insane idosyncratic leaps of logic when explaining conspiracies. They are completely invested in the artifical predetermined conclusion they made up.

That is the complete opposite of formulating a hypothesis, doing empirical tests, and drawing conclusions based on RESULTS. In science, you let the data lead you to the conclusion.

Inevitably conspircay theories all fail Occam's razor and can never produce concrete tangible evidence.

I'm pretty sure we went to the moon, so I don't believe in that NASA conspiracy bullcrap. Only because I've seen and read evidence that strongly supports the position that we did indeed go to the moon. The conspiracy theories are extremely weak and closed minded. Again the logical assumption for any intelligent person to make is that we did land on the moon, several times.

But with something like the Trilateral Commission or other powerful secret societies, I believe is entirely possible, and I believe their are influences on our president and government that are unseen. Some things are being controlled behind the scenes. Their ultimate goal is power and money.

However if someone shows me some real evidence to counter those beliefs, then I will adjust my way of thinking. My way of thinking is to get to the truth, whether it's in politics or religion (I mean spirituality, since I don't believe in organized religions) I go for whatever seems to be the most likely.

Did God create the Universe in 6 days? Highly unlikely. Is the Earth only a few thousand years old? No, many independent studies of fossils and other evidence (including moon rock samples) tell us that the Earth is millions of years old and the Universe, billions.

So again, whatever seems the most right, logical and truthful in my mind is the way I tend to think.

When police investigate a murder scene, how do they figure out what happened, they look at the evidence and work backward to try and figure out what happened. So apparently the "conspiracy" method of thinking is quite valid.

Is this supposed to make us non-believers want to convert? If your idea of a god as a mad as hell son of a bitch who's going to kill innocent animals and people without discrimination, then why would we want to worship or give ourselves over to that? If god is that much of a sadist, then we need to fight him with all of our resources since we're all going to die and suffer eternally anyway if we don't.

I love how the concept of a wonderful benevolent god, who wouldn't care if people believed in him or not, as long as they were basically good doesn't play out with the religious camps. They consistently favor a god who is a mean tyrant instead. That definitely says a lot more about the type of people who are religious zealots than about god himself if he even exists.

That's what I said when I got home last night and was really hungry. I will consume the birds and the fish.

I do not worship the God I endeavor to serve because I made an arbitrary or whimsical selection. I worship the God revealed in the Bible. I have studied the Bible for over forty years and have come, through the combination of faith and reasoning, to consider it accurate and trustworthy. I do not understand it, or the God is reveals, perfectly, but clear enough to persuade me that he is worthy of my worship.

Galan, that an awful long time to research a work of fiction. As far a basing things on faith, why? I mean we all pretty much had "Faith" that the Easter bunny was real and Santa Claus was real. Why? Because parents and adults told us they were real.

They were used as a means of behavior control. If you don't behave Santa will not bring you toys, if you are bad the Easter bunny won't come and leave you candy. Then after we grew up a bit we realized that these beings were false and that our parents used these as a means to make us behave.

Your religion is the same thing. It's based on some magical man who you never see but who watches you every second. And if you don't behave you will never get to go to his magical play-land in the sky after you die.

So to me your Christian God is just like Santa and the Easter bunny, he is made up and used to control the way people behave. But instead of getting something material on this world (like presents or candy) you will get your reward in the after life (of which there is no proof other than "faith). You also are basing your faith on a book that has been edited a few times over the centuries.

Repent so we can get the country going in the right direction.

Repent so we can show Jesus to those who don't know Him.

Repent so we can get closer to Jesus and know His will for our lives.

Repent: a 180 degree turn away from the way we were going.

If a mass murdering rapist on death row "finds Jesus" and accepts Jesus Christ as his savior, announcing he has been "born again", he supposedly will be redeemed in God's eye and be sent to heaven. While me, a Jewish person who has been good all his life, never hurting a fly, will instantly go to hell just because I haven't accepted Jesus as my savior.

How about the volcano eruption in Iceland? It screws with the weather for a while. Maybe high altitude ash is messing with the birds.

The latter is more plausible than the former. There are a number of reasons that volcanic activity could be a contributing factor. The oil spill would have affected sea birds and certainly birds close to shore, but a couple hundred miles from the gulf? Even if it were the result of contaminated insects from the spill, can you really see a mosquito flying a couple hundred miles to be eaten by a bird? I wouldn't discount it as a reason but it would be pretty near the bottom of the list.

howwa 'bout : the idea that oil is not just oil.. that its a "coolant" for the earths core... and after decades of draining this "coolant" Mother Nature is countering its effects...ie "global warming" not in the idea of atmospherical "warming" but the warming of the earths core... which would cause the ice to melt, in turn altering the temp of the oceans water and the currents flow... which in turn would cause different weather patterns ( even without this new 'weather making machine' ) and the earthquakes (plates moving around under the pressure of the rising temps) Then throw in all the underground testing and dumping of who knows what ( nukes and the like, biohazard materials ect ect )

oh so back to the point... the gulf oil spill... with all that oil just pissing out of that pipe, how do we know just how much came out??? dont get me wrong i dont believe that it caused chaos in the oceans ecosystem... after all microbes do amazing things every day that go unseen...

And how would the oil spill kill them simultaneously in flight? Poison/contamination like that would make them sick, they'd stop flying, eventually die wherever they're roosting... they wouldn't die mid-flight all at once. I certainly am not an expert in the field, but the suggestion that they flew into a pocket of freezing air (or something similar) makes more sense than a LOT of the other ideas being suggested here. I have to HOPE that most of these are meant as fun and NOT serious!!

The bird fall was in Beebe, the fish died near Ozark. They may be related, they may not - but those two towns are about 125 miles apart.

How about that specific breed of fish is something of tastiness for those birds. On their way south, they swoop down, eat the fish that are ill with something and then birds 125mi later, start feeling the effects of said illness caught from the fish they consumed.

I think it sounds pretty darned logical. And the fall from the sky is what broke necks and caused internal trauma.

@ Mark- The fireworks don't explain the one breed of fish dying... However, one type of fish can die from a disease while another can simply be a carrier.

Kind of like say... Color blindness. Women can be a carrier and pass it on to a son. Or sickle cell anemia. Or Rhumatoid Arthritis.

Flocks are generally composed of the same species of bird all in very close proximity to each other. Grackles and cowbirds might mix in with a flock of red-wing blackbirds, but they are not roosting when they are flocking together.

You would think that if the whole flock flew through the same air ALL of the flocks would be dead. They all breath the same air not just the red-wing black birds.
