OMG! To paraphrase: "Have [they] no decency left? After all this, have [they] no decency left?" It looks as if they have a little. A very, very little.
It seems many people do the right thing only when they are publicly shamed into doing so. But this is just like corporate America. No matter what the performance, they want their money. In this case, how many people died? Jail would be more appropriate, not bonuses.
Jail would definately be the appropriate solution for these murderers. Of course the teapugs in Congress would'nt go for that. It would be cutting off a source of campaign revenue. After all, according to that loud mouth from Texas, the oil companies deserve an apology for being held accountable for their deadly actions.
They are giving up their bonuses? Is this their way of admitting, they don't deserve them? I guess I have to agree. I believe, they don't deserve them for the next 20 years or more. I have heard nothing in the news about trying to clean up the toxic oil sluge coating the bottom of the Gulf for over 10 square miles. Is the sluge to be ignored just like all their other catastropic oil spills. They sweep it under the ocean and go on drilling another desaster in the making. I think the rule should be: no more deep water drilling untill the sluge is cleaned up and destroyed, and then only if it is safe. But, is Russian Rolette ever safe? I believe, BP and the other "Bad People" think it doesn't matter. I assume, Drill Baby Drill, Polute and Scoot, make money, make money, @!$%# in everyone's nest, and fly away is their method of operation. They should spend the rest of their days in prison eating ass-phalt on a shingle.
These executives did the right thing by donating those bonuses to the families who lost loved ones. While I commend their latest actions, it would have been better to have made the donations before the public outcry.
Let's drill for more oil, and build some more nuclear plants. Officials have informed us that the reactors can withstand an 8.0 earthquake in California, and the fishermen in Louisiana are inviting us to come down, hang out on their beach and eat their local fish. Right now shrimp from Louisiana and Sushi from Japan is on Sale. Maybe if we have some more oil spills or nuclear disasters, we can further drive down the price of seafood, and make it affordable for everyone.
Well if there was ever any doubt was to what the oil companies think of the people who are affected by their industrial corruption the bonues tell it all.None of the companies involved in the deaths of those workers and the destruction of the Gulf communities should be granted permits to drill there again. Why is the federal gov't allowing them to drill using the same faulty technology that led to the spill in the first place? The surge protectors have been proven to be useless and actually contribute to creating oil spills.

How the F**K can they give up safety bonuses??? They have to pay $BILLIONS$ in damages world wide..due to lack of SAFETY!!!!!
Its not give up..its not entitle too in a normal company!

Did they have a choice?
Of course not..thats why they did it! Not for the families.
They did the right thing....a little late.....but they did the right thing.
God bless America!
I guess they couldn't sleep at night. I wouldn't either. I'm glad they did what they did though.
If BP considers this an exemplary year for safety... why are we still awarding them new drilling contracts!?!

drill baby drill
I feel the out cry from the public forced them to do this. Sometimes our voices do matter.
I think this probably a good idea..the SLIMEBALLS!
